If you are able to order goods yourself, you can ask your suppliers to send your goods directly to our warehouse. Make sure the supplier label your package well before sending to us. Our warehouses are located in Ningbo, Foshan, Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Yiwu.
Shipping cost
The actual shipping cost by sea depend on the dimension of the package. The dimension of the package is called CBM (cubic meter) or volume. The CBM of the package can be calculated by measuring the package length, width and height in meter then multiply them together. However, the shipping cost by air mainly depend on weight but sometimes may also depend on both weight and package size.
Shipping by Sea
The shipping cost by sea usually depend on the amount of cubic meter (CBM or the volume) the goods occupy in the container especially if it’s LCL (less than a container load). When shipping by sea the cost is calculated according to the space the goods take up on the ship’s container in term of CBM. Sometimes the weight may count if your LCL cargoes are too heavy and exceed 1000kg because shipping containers have weight limit.
How to calculate the CBM?
Measure the length, width and height of the package in meter by using a tape measure.

A whole container for your goods alone either a 20 ft or a 40 ft container will be cheaper than a shared container. The shipping cost also vary depending on the destination the goods are heading to as well as the shipping line used to that destination. The shipping lines are the companies that own the ship such as COSCO,MARESK,PIL, etc.
Shipping by air
In most cases, the cost of air cargo is decided by the weight the cargo or parcel weighs. Sometimes both weight and package size (volume) of the cargo can be combined to decide the cost, it's called volumetric or dimensional weight. A less dense product generally occupies more volume of space in comparison to its actual weight.
Many companies such as cargo airlines, DHL, UPS, FedEx, TNT and others usually use volumetric weight if the volume of the cargo is not proportional to its weight. For example, if your package is only 6kg but very big in size then both weight and volume will be combined to calculate the shipping cost. Volumetric weight only apply to to air cargos.
How to calculate the Volumetric Weight?
Measure the length, width and height of the package in centimeter. Calculate the volume and divide it by 5000 to get the volumetric weight in kilogram.
Volumetric weight = (L X W X H) in centimeter/5000 = Kilogram
In most cases, once your goods arrive at their respective destination, you need a clearing and forwarding agent to process the goods and assist you with customs at the port or airport.

Our shipping cost calculator provides rates for shipping to Tanzania only or east africa countries via Dar es salaam port. In order to calculate the shipping cost by sea, select your product category then enter the CBM of your package and calculate. For air cargo, you only need to provide the weight in kilogram(kg) of your package. Our calculator is only for calculating the shipping cost for LCL cargos and normal air cargos.
However once your goods arrive at warehouse we will recheck the weight and dimension of each package and provide the exact shipping cost to the customer. Sometimes the suppliers do not provide exact information. Some goods might be charged in term of volumetric weight as already explained.

TEW packaging policy
Customers who want to use TEW to ship their products are required to pack their products well before sending them to TEW warehouse. TEW is not responsible for packaging any products especially the products which were not sourced or purchased by us. In case you want us to check and repackage your goods, let us know.
Some products which are fragile must be well packed and enclosed in a wooden frame or wooden cage. TEW can do packaging for you but you will need to pay for this service. The packaging cost depend on the type of products, the size of the package and the wood as well.

Note: Some products are very cheap but shipping cost can be very high so please make sure you know the shipping cost before placing the order from your supplier. Once you purchase the goods from your supplier in China, it's not easy to return it back.
